BBC Show Features Pre 1930's Gilkes Turbine

A Pre 1930's Gilkes turbine was featured on the BBC's Grand Tours of Scotland this week.

The turbine was originally installed on the Torredon Estate when Gilbert Gilkes & Gordon was known as James Gordon & Co. and is still maintained to this day by Gilkes service engineers.

We believe this to be one of the oldest running turbines in Britain. The 15kW produced from the turbine is used to power the ground source heating system for the house.

The Torredon segment is 12 minutes into the programme.
