Hafod y Llan is starting to generate electricity today and the Independent and the Guardian have reported on how this hydroelectric scheme is the start of a long term investment to help the charity become a major energy supplier in 5 years time.
The Gilkes hydro-turbine at the trusts Hafod y Llan farm in Snowdownia will generate enough electricity for about 445 homes, which will be sold to customers of Green Energy, the renewable power supplier.
