Gilkes Engineer wins Young Engineer Award 2015

Sam Walker, a Gilkes Senior Hydraulic Engineer with a BEng (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering has received the Young Engineer Award 2015, awarded by The Pump Centre.
The award in the professional category was based on engineering experience, knowledge, and understanding. It included being judged by a panel during a presentation given by Sam in April. The award was open to engineers with a professional qualification under the age of 28.
Sam was presented with the award at the Pump Centre conference dinner earlier in the month.
Dr William Beer, Gilkes Engineering Manager said: "Sam Walker is an outstanding professional engineering who has excelled at every opportunity within Gilbert Gilkes and Gordon. Sam has developed analysis protocols which have undoubtedly saved Gilkes tens of thousands in reduced prototyping costs. Sam is an asset who can be heavily relied upon to make informed decisions which are in the best interests of the company and engineering team which he manages".
