Llyn Briannen case study
Llyn Brianne is a lake in a remote mountain location to the north of Llandovery, Dyfed. It acts as a reservoir used for water supply. There are 62 million tonnes of water stored in Llyn Brianne which provides excellent potential for producing electricity.

Glenridding case study
The hydro scheme is located at Glenridding, Cumbria. Originally developed by Northern Hydro, a subsidiary of Norweb Generation Limited, it is now owned and operated by United Utilities. In the late 1980s, Northern Hydro initiated a programme to identify sites throughout the UK with potential for small-scale hydroelectricity generation.
